Bonnie B. Baswell, MD, FACAAI

Board Certified Allergy & Immunology

Dr. Baswell graduated from St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York. She went to medical school at Albany Medical College in Albany, NY. She completed her residency at Albany and went on to do her Allergy/Immunology fellowship at National Jewish Hospital in Denver, Colorado. She served as a Medical Officer in the United States Army and was involved in 2 other fellowships, pulmonary medicine and clinical pharmacology during that time. She is a Diplomat of the National Board of Medical Examiners, the American Board of Pediatrics, and the American Board of Allergy and Immunology. She is also a fellow of the American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology. Dr Baswell has been in Colorado Springs since 1984 and has been providing excellent care to both children and adults with asthma, allergies, chronic sinusitis, hives, food allergies, and anaphylaxis. Her impeccable reputation is preceded only by her outstanding service to our community.

Lisa Brownworth, NP

Nurse Practitioner

Lisa Brownworth is an accomplished Family Nurse Practitioner with a wide array of nursing experience. She graduated from Kent State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing in 1993. Initially starting her nursing career in a long term care facility treating elderly patients, she later transitioned to maternal-child health. Lisa worked for years with preemie babies in the Newborn Intensive Care Units in both Cheyenne, Wyoming as well as here in Colorado Springs. She has even worked as a home visiting nurse for new mothers and their babies for the state of Wyoming.

In 2003 Lisa started the Nurse Practitioner program at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, and graduated in 2005 with a Masters of Science in Nursing. While attending graduate school, Lisa was a part-time clinical instructor in the undergraduate nursing program, and taught Community Health and Basic Health Assessment. After graduation, she became nationally certified as a NP by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

Lisa is thrilled to be back at the Colorado Springs Allergy and Asthma Clinic! She spent some time here in 2006 and then moved to California where she worked in a busy allergy practice treating both children and adults with seasonal allergies, food allergies, chronic sinusitis, and asthma. She’s now back and looking forward to meeting and reconnecting with all of our wonderful patients.

Eric L. Caplan, MD, FACAAI

Board Certified Allergy & Immunology

Dr. Eric Caplan grew up in Colorado Springs and is thrilled to be home again! Dr. Caplan graduated from the University of Virginia in 1995 and from the University of Virginia School of Medicine in 1999. He went on to do his residency in Indianapolis, at the Indiana University Medical Center. He attended the Medical College of Georgia for his Allergy and Immunology Fellowship. He had the privilege to train under Drs. Betty Wray, Dennis Ownby, William Dolen, and Philip Smith. Dr. Caplan is a Diplomat of The American Board of Allergy and Immunology and The American Board of Pediatrics. He is a Fellow of the American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology. His interests include childhood and adult asthma, hay fever, food allergy and eczema, and chronic sinusitis. He also takes special interest in evaluating the immune system in patients who have had "too many infections" or children who are "always sick". He practices with care and compassion and takes time to ensure each patient has a satisfying office visit.

Marianne Leahy, PA-C

Certified Physician Assistant

Marianne Leahy was born in Rochester, NY.  Her career in the medical field began in 1987 as a Medical Laboratory Technician.  She went on to receive a Bachelor's degree in Biology from SUNY Potsdam in 1991.  After working for a few years in the field of cancer research, she decided to become a Physician's Assistant.  In 1996, she graduated from the Albany-Hudson Valley Physician Assistant Program. 

As a Physician Assistant, she has worked in the fields of Internal Medicine and Orthopedics. 

Marianne joined us in July 2009. We are thrilled to have her on our team and she has already been receiving high praise from our patients.
