Bonnie BaswellBonnie B. Baswell, MD, FACAAI

Board Certified Allergy & Immunology

Dr. Baswell graduated from St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York. She went to medical school at Albany Medical College in Albany, NY. She completed her residency at Albany and went on to do her Allergy/Immunology fellowship at National Jewish Hospital in Denver, Colorado. She served as a Medical Officer in the United States Army and was involved in 2 other fellowships, pulmonary medicine and clinical pharmacology during that time. She is a Diplomat of the National Board of Medical Examiners, the American Board of Pediatrics, and the American Board of Allergy and Immunology. She is also a fellow of the American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology. Dr Baswell has been in Colorado Springs since 1984 and has been providing excellent care to both children and adults with asthma, allergies, chronic sinusitis, hives, food allergies, and anaphylaxis. Her impeccable reputation is preceded only by her outstanding service to our community.


 

Eric Caplan MDEric L. Caplan, MD, FACAAI

Board Certified Allergy & Immunology

Dr. Eric Caplan grew up in Colorado Springs and is thrilled to be home again! Dr. Caplan graduated from the University of Virginia in 1995 and from the University of Virginia School of Medicine in 1999. He went on to do his residency in Indianapolis, at the Indiana University Medical Center. He attended the Medical College of Georgia for his Allergy and Immunology Fellowship. He had the privilege to train under Drs. Betty Wray, Dennis Ownby, William Dolen, and Philip Smith.

Dr. Caplan is a Diplomat of The American Board of Allergy and Immunology and The American Board of Pediatrics. He is a Fellow of the American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology. Dr. Caplan is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. He is also one of the only trained Anaphylaxis Community Experts in Colorado.

His interests include childhood and adult asthma, seasonal or animal allergies, food allergy and eczema, and chronic sinusitis. He also takes special interest in evaluating the immune system in patients who have had “too many infections” or children who are “always sick”. He practices with care and compassion and takes time to ensure each patient has a satisfying office visit.


Kori SchulteKori Schulte, FNP, BC, AE-C

Nurse Practitioner

Kori Schulte, NP, graduated from the University of Colorado School of Nursing in 1998 as a RN and worked for the following 5 years on a busy medical unit at the Children’s Hospital of Colorado. In 2003, she obtained her Master’s Degree of Nursing from the University of Colorado and began practicing as a family nurse practitioner. Over the following decade, she worked in school health and in the newborn nurseries of Colorado Springs. Most recently, she learned a great deal about pulmonary medicine while working with nationally renowned pulmonologists at The Breathing Institute for the Children’s Hospital of Colorado. She is asthma educator certified.

Kori’s interests include helping both adult and pediatric patients who have been diagnosed with asthma, environmental allergies, food allergies and eczema. She derives great satisfaction from working with families and individuals while ensuring that they are receiving quality care and thorough education. When not caring for patients, she enjoys traveling, camping, scuba diving and spending time with her husband and two school aged children.
